Begins the 16th Science Fair held again in FIBES, Exhibition and Conference in Seville. The president of the Andalusian Society for the Promotion of Science, Carmen Diaz Sanz director of the Fair, Josechu Ferreras and the director of the Foundation Discover, Teresa Cruz, They will proceed to its opening at 10:30, an institutional tour which will involve different authorities.
The Andalusian Society for the Promotion of Science (SADC) Discover Foundation and organized the sixteenth edition of the Science Fair, which it has become one of the leading scientific and cultural events in Andalusia and is funded among others by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.
The students of different schools are the real stars, their learning by involving visitors, that explain their projects. However, The fair also reserve a space for research, university faculties, museums and companies such as the Superior Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), the National Center for Accelerators, University of Seville, University Pablo de Olavide, Red Electrica of Spain, PCT Cartuja or Ayesa Foundation.
The projects developed in the Science Fair respond to different scientific disciplines such as physics, chemistry, the maths, biology or technological development, cadaaño but it focuses on a particular topic. In this edition, the fair's main themes: the brain and neuroscience, conservation of biodiversity, cultural and heritage STEM + (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics + Art). In addition, This year for the first time celebrated the "Friday STEM GIRLS", with microcharlas scientific Girls.
Always without losing sight of its primary objective of spreading awareness and bring science to the public, Science Fair has this year 124 stands in involving more than 6000 students and 800 professors, plus a total of 700 people between professional researchers and research staff and popularizer of other entities. Young also highlights the presence of Colombia and Mexico representing SOLACYT, Latin American Society of Science and Technology.
Activate your brain with toys, Optimus Home, Technology at your fingertips, o pequesabios "react with science", are just some of the projects presented in this issue and that people can enjoy visiting the Fair. This year the fair features new stand "Experience. Families and young people who have science ", which will take place on Saturday and giving the opportunity to enjoy science counting groups of friends or families.
At the Fair contests they are organized and able to participate in some games like EntreREDes on the stand nº8 of Red Eléctrica de Spain; Magallanes and Science at booth # 31 Isla Magica or the Gymkhana-Science Lab at booth # 48 Cajasol Foundation.
As for the competitions, the National Research Center Isla de La Cartuja deliver "future scientists cicCartuja Prize" the, recognizes science projects of secondary and high schools participating in the Science Fair. In addition it gives tomorrow 18:00 FIBES also from the debate will be held "Let's talk about ... Climate change in Andalusia".
As every year, the main objective of the Science Fair is to disseminate and bring science not only to the school community, but all sectors of society, stimulating their curiosity and interest in scientific culture.
