Short ‘For Snails’ is a short film festival that has been held annually since 2003 in the Triana neighborhood, Seville (Spain), organized by the El Cachorro Room and the cultural collective Slow motion.

Since its inception, This contest tries to stay true to a very simple philosophy that brings together two of the most popular traditions in this area.: summer cinema and tapas. The screenings are outdoors and the main prize, Destined for the Best Short Film ‘Por Caracoles’, comes out of the collection of snail tapas that are served during the week of the festival in the bar of Sala El Cachorro.

Another characteristic that makes this sample peculiar is that since 2011 Only films in which firearms do not appear are admitted to the contest, in what tries to be a small gesture in favor of a less violent culture.

Although it is organized with a very small budget and tries to preserve the simplicity of its proposal, Cortos ‘Por Caracoles’ has already established itself as a reference festival in the South of Spain and has acquired an international dimension by which in recent editions short films from the five continents have been seen in this sample.
