Cervantes, science in Don Quixote – Sevilla House of Science
This temporary exhibition, designed by the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales (CSIC) as a tribute to Miguel de Cervantes in the fourth centenary of his death, addresses science and technology at the time of the publication of Don Quixote, through relevant personages of the time like Philip II, Vesalio, Copernicus, Aldrovandi, gaskets, Belon, Gesner, Salviani y Mercator. The exhibition covers four areas of science reflected in the work of Cervantes: Natural History, Astronomy, Technology and Ecology. It is an extensive showcase the state of science in the Spain of the time and the influence that some large and naturalists revolutionary, doctors, mathematicians and geographers had on Cervantes and his main novel.
