Much of the Spanish population assumes that the day 11 May will pass to the phase 1 of the de-escalation plan, However, the director of the Center for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies of the Ministry of Health, Fernando Simón, has announced that the autonomous communities that change phase will know it between Friday night and Saturday.

The decision to pass or not, will depend on the ability to detect and monitor new infections, as well as the number of ICU beds available for patients with coronavirus.

“If you have not had cases for 14 the 28 days, is in a favorable position, but if they don't have cases because they don't do PCR or any form of diagnosis, that criterion is not worth us”, commented.

Simón has made it clear that the last word will be the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, and explained that there will be a report by region in which the criteria that will base the ‘if’ or the ‘no’ to phase change.

Those who have requested the phase advance for Monday 11 they will have to know the approval or not in the next days, or even in the next few hours.

“Each report will have an explanation of how they are valued as a whole, it is the safest for the entire population”.
