The Rafaela Carrasco dancer and choreographer (Seville, 1972), a crucial figure to understand the profound transformation that flamenco dancing has operated in recent years, honors four women of our Golden Age, Teresa of Jesus, María de Zayas, María Calderón and Juana Inés de la Cruz, through four scenes that danced, in the manner of letters choreographic, They invite us to travel back in time to highlight the efforts of courage, sacrifice and pain that women have felt in their struggle for the conquest of freedom.
Through dance, music and word, in a show dramatized by Álvaro Tato, Rafaela Carrasco reveals the experiences and concerns of Santa Teresa -in his mystical agony in the convent- the novelist María de Zayas and intrigues in the halls of the Court, lights and shadows of the famous actress María Calderón on the boards of a comedy theater and daydreams and controversies that surrounded the life of Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz. "Themselves, those born shadows, XXI century awaken in the light of our consciousness ", says the writer Álvaro Tato.
