In 1847 He started to become popular, In that year, on the occasion of the April livestock fair held in Seville, Many gypsy women accompanied their husbands and wore these peculiar outfits to show off at the event. What was originally a livestock fair eventually became a gathering for partying and leisure and those ruffled robes, moles and embroidery women wore cattle dealers, they became an object of attraction for high society ladies.

It was in 1929 when its use is “Officialized”, thanks also to the professionalization of flamenco, who took this outfit as his own.

The women of the peasants were the inspiration of the creators of the flamenco dress, as they realized that gowns fitted at the waist and ruffled hems stylized the female body.
