Rosewood – “A model UFO vintage fifties”

You know that in many interviews I wonder why this album is called Rosewood. I'll have to invent something….: A model UFO vintage fifties? Does the wood that I use guitars and baseball bats with which attempt destroy the drawers where I was pigeonholed are constructed?

Rosewood is my fourteenth studio album. Four with HdS, eight solo, Nacho Vegas and one another with the Bushido collective. I consider all disks search. A permanent flight forward. An endless journey that never ends and aims not pass twice through the same crossroads. So, consider 'Rosewood’ disc is my transition fourteenth.

Most musicians showed in our first-recordings and clear, what our influences, discs and favorite artists. When we fulfill some years and already recorded a lot of albums, seem to strive to demonstrate and proud to note what were our roots. Already satisfied both natural inclinations, I wanted Rosewood was a contemporary album, content and, I hope, nothing navel-gazing. Personal, modern and universal vocation. I counted again with 'The Holy Innocents’ (with which I recorded as' Hellville de Luxe’ – 2008, 'The Consequences’ – 2010, 'Gran Rex’ – 2011 and 'Bachelor Pubs’ – 2011). I asked them to keep some distance in their interpretations. Without drama,… We already know! Would, also, guitars and keyboards sound to date instruments, moving away from tics and clichés. Most of what sounds, as a metaphor, we recorded with newly purchased instruments.

A part of my regular band, we have the cooperation of a female vocal trio gospel, a symphony orchestra and an expert in synthesis of sounds and frequencies.

Is it a rock album? And I do not know! Who cares!

Being the producer of my own albums gives me complete control over what I say and how I want to say. I accept the role of director of a film that also have a role as an actor. I have run a complex film, with many nooks and readings. It is possible that a first listen, Flip, and given its duration, it is difficult and extreme. I'm really sorry, I'd like to make records for all audiences, but I get these.

Rosewood is a coral disc. Coexist therein, metaphorically, many voices. Many reviews. Not defend one position or opportunity. I am in favor and against the contention. Depends on the day and time. But a thread, I do cling to me, stresses as discussed in most songs. This is the real and urgent need for change. The unsustainability of the human project as we defend, or advocate on our behalf.

(…) Some asked me anxious and concerned about the significance of the cover. A boat in the desert, llamado ‘God is Love’, spotting a UFO? Do you begin your Christian era?So are harmful and irreversible side effects of drugs? I hope what songs, Cover, videos and tour, have sufficient readings so that the answers give the listener. Hope, somehow, following the questions that the author was (the sea, I did) building the sound universe Rosewood, new issues arising in the head who will listen and, hopefully, enjoyment.
