Artist Biography:
Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau Nieto was born in Barcelona 20 January 1964. A late 1980 He worked as a textile designer for various companies, always keeping alive his passion for oil painting. His vocation for the military and history led him also, very young, to paint this subject and write a book (Roman battalion),although his first independent works were landscapes and self-learners, especially marine.
Later, inspired by the work of Antonio López García, focused on urban environments and captured in his canvases the corners of his native Barcelona. He exhibited in art galleries, and he achieved success and good reviews. A late 1990 He decided to specialize in historical and military themes and began producing paintings where the landscape is mixed with military elements as soldiers and cavalry.
Installed in Madrid from 2010, He has collaborated with different publishers, associations, institutions and organizations specializing in recreating military history in Spain. Monographs have been published various books about his painting. Man committed to the culture and art, magazine she launched, FD Magazine, in addressing the history of Spain and its people from an artistic and social perspective. Ferrer-Dalmau has been in airside of an international conflict such as Afghanistan and Lebanon, sketching, taking notes and painting, while he is cohabiting with the Spanish troops in ISAF 2012 and in 2014 in Helmand province with the Armed Forces of Georgia. The painter shared experiences with contingent ASPFOR XXXI, formed on the basis of the parachute brigade, in Qala i Naw and the combat outpost (COP) Ricketts, in Moqur. It is the first time a Spanish painter goes to a mission abroad to collaborate with the Ministry of Defense of Spain.
