It has been a long time since Pinter had to suffer the bad reviews after his releases in the fifties. Now to speak of the British playwright is to refer to a Nobel Prize recognized and represented all over the world. His pieces do not seek to give answers. They do not seek to establish a closed fiction but rather, as in life, they are an altarpiece of enigmas, of concerns, of problems without solution.

Treason is probably his most classic work, the furthest from some of the traits that bother his detractors so much. There is a clear plot, recognizable by all, his characters are very close to us, We feel they are close and we would say that the story unfolds in an Aristotelian way. I say "we would say" because Pinter decides to tell it backwards. Use a series of flashbacks to go from the end to the origin of the conflict.
