In the year 1986, the panorama of folk and traditional music of Galicia met a promising new formation born in the city of A Coruna.

The Luar na Lubre are, day by day, one of the reference bands in this style. Considering Galicia as a fundamental point of their work, and taking into account their character, Luar na Lubre understands that music is one of the most important cultural factors for the affirmation of the right to enriching difference of the Galician people. The group claims that predominates in Galicia their culture but does not reject influences that will improve their proposal without deturpar the central character of your project.

The musical project is mainly based on the music of Galician roots, so they devote particular attention to the study of the main Galician songbooks and fieldwork that provides a deep understanding of the musical Galician reality that has revealed a determining factor in his own compositions.
