AINHOA ARTETA - TRAVELING SONGS - TO THE PIANO JAVIER CARMENA
"Songs are creatures, delicate creatures, to which you have to take care so that their rhythm is not altered at all. Every song is a wonder of balance, that can be easily broken: it is like an ounce that stays on the tip of the needle. " Federico Garcia Lorca
Our most international and, thus, lyrical traveler, Ainhoa Arteta, today presents us with a delicious program of songs by Spanish authors. Composers united with each other for a fruitful life overturned in the love of the traditional and folklore.
All of them lovers of the Spanish and the traditional, like our soprano, and also poets and great travelers.
Albéniz's “Balades Italianes” dress in a sophisticated reverie, refined harmonic poetry that invites us to cross the thresholds of those rooms of the XlX, animated stage, memorable evenings.
The tireless traveler Albéniz reminds us that he was in Malaga. This time the vehicle of the sound postcard that he sends us is the piano alone in the hands of Javier Carmena. Biznaga and saltpeter in the waves of the pentagram.
Oral tradition and historicism gives us, then, a brief and accurate selection of the classical Spanish songs of the maestro Fernando Obradors. But of course, in this line, Federico García Lorca takes the cake.. What to say about the Granada? There is little to add to the eloquent frankness of his words, always anointed with endearing candor: “I have studied the folklore of my country for ten years with the sense of a poet, I am the crazy person of the songs ".
And the trip ends in the Pradera de San Isidro. Granados and Barbieri pluck characters from Goya's tapestry cartoons and canvases with an eighth note, the great chronicler of the time: holding hands we see nice guys and majas go by, some discreet, resolved others, or shy ... and some gallant Paloma.
