 For an artist to capture the essence of things seems a knockout but it is always immediate consequence of experimentation. The effort is not visible and is well hidden to us, because the artist's work is to document the state of the world. Some leaves caught in the mountains, a flower next to a swamp, They are become the language explaining the passage of time.

 Ellsworth Kelly strains included in sequence entitled "Leaves". In one of those drawings leaves are reduced to four dramatic black spots, that pales the paper support and transform the usual evocation of this plant, because we associate the sun, that sweetens grapes and plunges us into the festive and undulating contour of the vineyards.

  Mugi Fuchang, Mafai and Kelly are a possible chain of reference for current work presents Dorothea von Elbe in the Gallery Rafael Ortiz. Like them, the sculptures, paintings and works on paper by von Elbe seek to stop the moment and document time. They seek to express the paradox through obvious signifiers. They seek to explain the simplicity of natural mechanisms by refined expressive techniques.
