Its official name is Puente de Isabel II, since it was built under the mandate of the same, between 1845 and 1852. Its architects were the French Ferdinand Bernadet and Gustavo Steinacher.

Located between Paseo de Colón (at its confluence with Calle Reyes Católicos) and the Plaza del Altozano (Triana), It has the same situation as the old Puente de Barcas.

The structure is made up of four stone bases, two central piers and two lateral abutments, between which three equal openings open, also counting on a sailor arch also of ashlar masonry.

These were based on the Carrousel Bridge, located in paris. The Parisian bridge was built in 1834 on the river Seine (although it does not currently exist, would be located near the Louvre museum) and was depicted by Vincent Van Gogh in one of his impressionist paintings.

The Triana Bridge, has undergone repairs, renovations and modifications due to the passage of time or new needs.
