Tales of Corpus… San Fernando

(Stories donated by José Antonio Colinet for AndaluNet)

IT ISOnce upon a boat that dreamed a star; In his early years he had worked for a fisherman named Peter, Peter liked to call his little boat Aurora because both liked fishing at dawn.

One day Jesus bare feet first trod her wet tablets and humble little boat suddenly felt the strength of a great galleon over her, I knew I could now cross the seas, through all storms, Jesus had come into their lives.

Time passed and Pedro stopped fishing fish to catch the hearts of men, but sometimes he returned to find his little boat and spent the night together watching stars.

My faithful barquita, – Pedro said that night- You see how Jesus has changed our lives, Now I must follow my destiny walk, and you must overcome many dangers to reach the site where you belong, only then you will find your star.

Pedro went away and never seen again.

that barquita, now lost without his friend, He had been driven to drift, always looking at the sky.

It took many, many years, and our friend arrived on the banks of the Guadalquivir. Isbilia was inhabited by Muslims who did not know Jesus If it could talk!, -I thought the barquita-, If they had seen as the sweetness of her eyes!

In this thought when one Abu Salem, He took its moorings and carried dragging down the river. Before realizing Aurora was part of a network of small boats that made a bridge between Seville and Triana.

Right here goes my dream brightening said Aurora, right here I will find my star.

Suddenly a cloaked man began to cross the bridge steadily. Trod so strong and so energetically that unwillingly conceded his boot between the slats of Aurora.

What a gross! -Aurora let go without thinking-

-Who dares call the King of Castilla crude? -He shouted the man-

Aurora was dumbfounded (it was the first time, since he was in Galilee, someone could hear)

I am Aurora, your boot was wedged between my scared said tables-

Castilla and León I'm losing my mind - he shouted again that arrogant man-

You will see Majesty, I do not leave my amazement, so far only Peter and Jesus had been able to hear my thoughts.

Fernando sat bewildered as he tried to release the boot and meanwhile condemned both started talking

Is it true then that you met Jesus? He asked the King

As surely as tonight will walk barefoot around town Majesty.

Aurora meet again- Fernando bid farewell, Now I must go to explore a city that already from here omen beautiful. (He took off his shoes and went on his way)

He rides King of Castile and Leon in Seville and found that it all dreamed, and I saw a tall slender tower and bells dreaming, and saw mosques that God dreamed and remembered dreaming that his star barquita. Then he realized that he could not stop dreaming about that city.

Fernando was a long time planning his entry into Seville but the city, walled perfectly, It made it difficult to conquer. Feet were killing him, injuries had taken their toll on some accustomed feet soft and nice shoes, then reminded Aurora, He gathered his army and galloped as fast as he could toward the river.

Aurora was left lulled by the gentle bobbing of the waters of the Guadalquivir, when suddenly he heard a known steps.

-King approached stealthy-TONIGHT, Aurora, You will loose your moorings,- said Fernando- and you should do your companions, We will break the bridge linking the city.

I do not understand Majesty- Aurora said puzzled-

This bridge connects the field with small town, without land, every city, however powerful it may seem is lost. Men to give up before the hunger that before the armies.

That night was the beginning of a new era, and dreams of that city were fulfilled. The most beautiful bells for the most beautiful tower, the most beautiful altars for the most beautiful churches in Christendom and the brightest star crossing a bridge where are still remains of that humble little boat that changed the fate of Sevilla.

Aurora now sails with his friend Pedro by celestial seas, and Sevilla…

Sevilla never forgot his friend Rey.
