Sebastián Castella retires from bullfighting

The French right-hander has announced his decision in a press release issued through social networks.

Castella says goodbye in the season in which the 20 anniversary of your alternative.

The bullfighter made his last walk last 26 September in the bullring of Granada, where he walked an ear of each bull of his lot.

This is how Sebastián Castella said goodbye:

Dear fans who have followed me for so long, supported and demanded:

I am writing to inform you that I am withdrawing from bullfighting. It's a tough decision, very thoughtful and what, also, matches my 20 years of alternative, an event that I have not been able to share with you as I would have liked.

I would never have imagined when I started my journey with just 11 years old, in my native Beziers, that I was going to achieve so many goals. I want to show my gratitude to all those who have accompanied me at some point in my career. From everyone I have learned. Especially, I want to remember my family. Without them, this path would not have been possible up to here.

I consider myself a privileged. And at this point, I would like to remember the colleagues who paid with their lives to conquer their dreams of lights. They have done, still, bigger this profession.

Everything I have, what i have lived, what I know and what I have achieved I owe to the world of the bull. I have met wonderful people and places thanks to the most beautiful profession that exists. So many times I was born again, so many that I would try to be a bullfighter.

But once here, I think there are other universes to discover and I have a lot to learn beyond what my life has been since I was a child.

This year 2020, so difficult due to the health situation we are living in, I decided to fight to return, within my humble contribution, to the toro lor much that this has given me. I think it was necessary. I did it, in the few places that have been able to offer shows, for my gang, how bad it has been due to the lack of contracts and that they have been so faithful to me, for the fans, from which I have always felt his warmth and support, by the businessmen who decided to organize bullfights, for the cattlemen, to whom we bullfighters owe so much, and by the specialized media that I have always felt as an important part of this sector.

I don't know if it will be a final goodbye or a see you later. Only time has the answer. They say that bullfighters never retire and I think that's the case. Me wherever I am, doing what i do, I will ALWAYS say with PRIDE that I have been, I am and will be TORERO.
