New season of the SHOWCASe cycle

SHOWCASe is a cycle of performances from different disciplines that take place at the Seville Arts Center since 2013, a place where we can stop and enjoy the intimate and special moments that certain scenic proposals offer us., jewels that renounced globalization in favor of a culture contextualized in a unique and unrepeatable moment.

WRITING THE NEWS. BY CHIQUI CARABANTE
TALLER – 17 to the 21 April – 18h a 21h

Workshop to investigate the construction of a dramatic text based on improvisations with performers and creators, taking real news as a starting point. Technique with which they work in their theater company Club Caníbal.
Chiqui Carabante is director and screenwriter, He combines his film career with theater direction. With his first two short films he won more than forty awards at national and international festivals.. In 2009 created his own production company, Divine Mechanics, with which he made “12+1, a metaphysical comedy” his second feature film.
At present, prepares a feature film with Tornasol, Love me, and creates a black comedy with his own production company, Strength. This year he presents his short film “Normal” at the Malaga Film Festival..
His work as a playwright is carried out from his company Club Caníbal. In 2014 They begin to forge the trilogy “Crónicas Ibéricas”. They premiere the first show “From here I see the square dirty” in July 2015 within the framework of the “Fringe” festival and in 2016 the second “Heirs of the Dusk”. Both shows are currently on tour and have nominations for the upcoming Max Awards for breakthrough show and breakthrough authorship..

HOW TO LOVE THE MINISTER OF CULTURE? EL HANGAR COMPANY

Three artists from the provinces have arrived in Madrid ready to succeed, to eat this city in bites. But little by little they are discovering that it is not going to be so easy.. In fact, It's not even that easy to earn some money to survive in this shitty city.. So desperate they decide to end all their problems by kidnapping a second-rate politician.. To the brother-in-law of one of them. But their plan is so botched that they end up kidnapping another guy by mistake.. A guy that no one in their right mind would want to kidnap.

THEREMONIAL. JAVIER DÍEZ ENA
ACTION – 12 May – 21h

Presentation in Seville of the album “Theremonial”, edited by Ale-Hop and Beat Generation, first album in which the Theremin takes on all the musical roles, no samplers or tuning tricks. Influenced by exotic music, the industrial or crazy sounds of proto-electronics like Raymond Scott or Tom Dissevelt. The concert will be accompanied by live visuals from El Problema (Maria Gallardo).

Double Bassist, thereminist and electronic musician. Member of the Dead Capo groups, Ginferno and Outsider. He has been part of Insecto and Ainara LeGardon's bands. (2006-2009) and Aaron Thomas (2007-2011). He has also collaborated in studio and/or live with people like Standstill, Damo Suzuki (Can), Javier Corcobado, Victor Coyote, July of the Rose, Javier Colis and Bad Languages, Tundra, Bruno Galindo, The Düsseldorf Horses, Hyperpotamus, Eh!, Susana Cancer, Clint, Strand, Az Rotator, That Crooner From Nowhere, Biodramine Mood, Alondra Bentley, Lava, Mathis Haug and much more.

CONFERENCE/WORKSHOP ON THEREMIN. JAVIER DÍEZ ENA
CONFERENCE / TALLER – 13 May – 11:30 a 14h

El theremin, the instrument that is played without playing, the direct ancestor of modern synthesizers. Through this conference/workshop you will be able to learn about the surprising story of its inventor Leon Theremin and the evolution of the instrument through cinema, Music, television and advertising. As well as its infinite possibilities as a generator of almost unimaginable sounds and its versatility as a musical instrument in the strict sense.. Javier will offer a practical class in which the basic notions of aerial fingering will be addressed, You can bring your theremin or an instrument will be available for those who do not bring it or simply want to try it for the first time.

Mating, addictions, territory. Our brain structures do not differ much from those of the elephant or the whale.

A piece about human behavior that delves into flamenco choreographic and musical research under the premises of new dramaturgies.. Working with binomials that combine tradition and the contemporary; Drum ‘n’ bass por bulerías, seguiriyas danced at ground level or free improvisation for soleá that is based on the scream and the destruction of an addiction. Crude formation composed of cajon, Voice, violin and dance that addresses with strength and honesty the challenge to the margins of the flamenco precipice.

CATASTROPHE. MR. SERRANO
ACTION – 09 June – 21h

The Señor Serrano Group, over 10 Years of experience, is a Barcelona-based theater company that creates original productions about discordant aspects of the contemporary human experience.. Señor Serrano's shows mix live video, mockups, Text, performance, sound and objects.

Nowadays, The core of the Señor Serrano Group is made up of Àlex Serrano (Republic President), Pau Palacios (Prime Minister) y Barbara Bloin (Chief of Staff). Besides them, For each production the company has the essential collaboration of a multidisciplinary and variable creative team.. The rest is sound and fury. The rest is copy/paste.
catastrophe. Four performers, eleven models and hundreds of gummy bears make up the world where Katastrophe takes place: an idiotic fable about human civilization, focused on disasters. In this frame, gummy bears will suffer earthquakes, black tides, wars and exterminations. All of this done live through chemical experiments and subversive actions.. Welcome to this pop world of chaos, game and destruction.

The price of admission is €5 in advance until 19:00h Day show, 8€ at the door.

You can purchase them at the Espacio Turina ticket offices. (C/Laraña, 4) Tuesday to Saturday 11:00h a 14:00h y de 17:30h a 20:30h (600.950.746).

The same day of the show at the CAS from 20:00h you can buy them in case there are seats left.

All performances at 9 p.m..

Access to the room will not be allowed once the function has started.
